How can I get my Cougar 1Card?
Pick up the 1Card in the Cougar 1Card Office in the University Center,
Room 279 between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through
Friday. A photo ID such as a driver's license, military ID or
passport photo is required.
What if I lose my Cougar 1Card?
If you lose your card, you should report the incident 24 hours per
day/7 days a week to the Cougar 1Card Office at 713-743-CARD
(713-743-2273) and the Campus Police at 713-743-0600. Follow the
voice mail instructions to report the lost card when calling the Cougar
1Card Office after normal business hours. There is a $20 replacement
fee.
What if my card is stolen?
Stolen cards should be reported immediately 24 hours per day/7days a
week to the Cougar 1Card Office.
Is there a fee for the Cougar 1Card?
Yes, a $6 per semester Cougar 1Card maintenance fee is charged to all
students, and is billed on their tuition and fee bill.
What is flex?
The Flex Account works like a debit card. It is not the same as
a meal plan account. Purchases are limited to locations accepting
the flex account. The flex account is a separate account from the
OneAccount.
What is a VTS?
Value Transfer Station. These devices are located throughout
campus and allow you to deposit
money into your flex account.
I live on campus; what is the difference between my
meal plan account, flex account, and OneAccount?
Only residents will have a "meal plan account" automatically
assigned on the Cougar 1Card. This account allows you to purchase
food only at Chartwells dining locations accepting the meal plan account.
The "flex account" is a separate account,
added to the 1Card, that requires a signed agreement with an advance
deposit for services. The flex account can be used for food,
laundry, bookstore items, and other purchasing options as they become
available at locations accepting the flex account.
The OneAccount is another account that is a true debit
card. This card will be accepted anywhere MasterCard is accepted.
What is a C-store?
Short for convenience store.
