The Texas Intensive

Things done well,

And with a care, exempt themselves from fear…                      Henry VIII (I, ii)

The Texas Intensive (TXi) is an annual workshop focused on the art of stage and screen violence, specifically designed to provide students of all levels with an immersive, “intensive” experience.  We are dedicated to professional skill training and attribute acquisition, and pride ourselves on providing practical combat education to create better, more dynamic performers.

Every year over Labor Day Weekend, instructors and innovators from around the country gravitate to Houston to offer instruction in the ever-expanding art of combat performance, and we draw student practitioners from across the United States, and internationally.

The TXi is a sanctioned regional workshop of the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD), and gratefully acknowledges the support we receive from the SAFD, the University of Houston, and the Houston Shakespeare Festival.  We share the SAFD’s desire to “promote safety and foster excellence” in this ever-expanding art form.

Join SAFD Fight Masters, Fight Directors and Certified Teachers from around the country for cutting edge training, whether you are seeking a foundational understanding, or acquiring the advanced skills necessary for a career in the industry.
