Instructional Assistant Professor Theatre Education

University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance seeks a Theatre Education faculty member to begin in August 2015. The position is a renewable 11-month contract as an Instructional Assistant Professor. The position will work collaboratively with Associate Director of Theatre Education; teach Theatre and Theatre Education undergraduate courses; mentor pre-service teachers in the field; assist in coordinating recruitment for Theatre programs, including travel to various recruitment events. Qualifications:  MA or MFA Theatre or M.Ed. in Educational Administration or Curriculum & Instruction required.  State or National Certification in Theatre Arts required, plus extensive experience teaching theatre arts in public schools.  Experience teaching technical theatre and experience in leading students in development of technical portfolios a plus.  Elementary experience a plus. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. The review process will begin November 15, 2014, and will continue until the position is filled.
