"Houston TranStar is a inter-agency collaborative effort of local and state government officials, founded for the purpose of pursuing integrated transportation and emergency incident management. Through interviews and a job analysis we developed a new employee orientation for employees from all agencies who are assigned to work at TranStar. We also provided general organizational recommendations and participated in joint strategic planning efforts."

"Working with the City of Houston has been a wonderful experience. It has allowed us to gain priceless insight into employee issues within a large government organization. Seeing these issues first hand and developing ways to improve the current situation has been invaluable. It will also be very gratifying to have the opportunity to see what we have developed applied in a field setting to reduce the likelihood of negative organizational outcomes."

"Working with The Men's Wearhouse has been incredibly developmental for me. The applied experiences I have enjoyed through this project to date, such as meeting regularly with multi-unit executives and even speaking with the CEO, have allowed me the opportunity to understand how many of the constructs and theories I study in my classes are operationalized in the business context. In addition to complementing my class work, my hopes are for the data obtained through this project to prove invaluable for both my own research and the research of my colleagues."

"A member of the ExxonMobil project team, I have participated on projects focused on training, mentoring, employee selection, employee health and well-being and cross-cultural adjustment, as well as provided a wide range of organizational development solutions. These projects have required conducting large scale surveys, evaluating training effectiveness, conducting job analyses, designing instructional material and conducting data analysis and report generation. This has provided me an invaluable opportunity to link theory and research to applied projects, as well as develop my professional acumen."

"One of the best experiences working on Saudi Aramco project is that we apply what we learn in the classroom to the real work environment, real people and help real organizations solve actual issues. Also, we have a unique opportunity to empirically investigate whether Western management theories, strategies and "best practices" are applied in non-Western cultures. For example, in one of our recent projects we try to identify whether mentor-protege dynamics are the same or different in non-Western cultures; and if yes, how we can tailor them to specific organizational needs. It is always exciting to apply what you read in the books or learn in the classroom to the real-world environment!"
