"I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells."
-Dr. Seuss

WELCOME to our special pages dedicated to children and the brain. Did you know that the brain is made out of thousands, millions, billions of neurons? If we could take one brain and magically turn every neuron into a person, can you guess how many Earth planets would be needed to hold all those people? Did you guess 10? Sorry ... you didn’t guess it right this time. You will need 16 and a half planet Earths to fit everyone! Wow!

Did you know that the estimated number of galaxies in the universe is the same as the number of estimated neurons in a single brain? Wow! That’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? But what is even more amazing is that the neurons in your brain never touch each other! Oh my, that is something! So, do you think you can write down the number of neurons that neuroscientists believe exist in your brain? Is it 1,000,000? Is it 100,000,000? Is it 10,000,000,000? And the winner is ... 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion - that’s a 1 followed by 11 zeros!)

Well, we haven't really counted them all, so we may be off by a couple thousand ... If your mouth has dropped to the floor and you are in awe, you'll agree with us in that the brain is the most fascinating organ of the body (at least that’s what we believe). Please, go ahead, fasten your seatbelts and start exploring it all! Click on the links below to start the coolest trip to the brain that you will ever take. And don't forget to send us your questions, comments, ideas for new posters, brain teasers, drawings and other stuff and we will post them to this site for the world to see what a fantastic brain you have!
