SACK provides low-cost assessment and treatment services for children and adolescents between the ages of 3 and 18 years. For parents interested in finding out more about our services, a member of our team will be happy to speak with you over the phone to answer any questions you may have and discuss your specific concerns. An assessment appointment may be scheduled in order to help us better determine the precise nature of your child's problem(s). This appointment typically includes structured interviews with both you and your child, and the completion of several questionnaires. TreatmentTreatment provided at SACK is evidence-based, meaning that the strategies and techniques we use have been shown to be effective in previous treatment research. In particular, behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) are used. CBT is recognized as "best practice" for the treatment of anxiety in children by the World Health Organization. What is Behavioral/Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy?CBT is a short-term treatment approach that sets specific goals for therapy. Treatment focuses on providing children (and parents) the skills, experiences and support they need to reduce and overcome problems with anxiety, fear, and/or sleep. Parents play a critical role in CBT by helping children practice and master the skills they learn in treatment. Another form of behavioral therapy called Parent Management Training is also offered at SACK for families with pre-school aged children. Professional ServicesSACK staff are available for professional consultation, seminars, workshops and lectures on a range of topics related to anxiety and sleep in children. Workshops and talks can be tailored to the level and specific interests of attendees. To schedule an appointment or
