Research

CNDL conducts research that aims to improve the clinical detection, prediction and management of real-world outcomes (e.g., internet use) and health behaviors (e.g., medication management) in diverse groups of persons with neurocognitive disorders, including HIV disease and older adults. Our approach is to: 1) identify and understand relevant theories and associated constructs from basic cognitive neuropsychology; 2) develop and test theory-driven hypotheses regarding the sensitivity of those constructs to specific types of brain dysfunction and real-world health outcomes; and 3) translate those laboratory findings into clinically useful tests and novel treatments. The navigation tabs to the left provide details regarding CNDL’s recent research projects and publications.
