Dr. Linda Davis

Dr. Davis is Director of Educational Technology for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Governors State University. Her doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education is from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to joining the Dean’s office, she served as Director of Staff Development and Instructional Technology Facilitator for Kirby School District in Illinois and taught online courses for University of Northern Iowa.

David Dumonde

David Dumonde is an instructional designer and educator who has worked in higher education since 1999, with primary emphasis in the field of online education since 2008. He holds a master's degree in education, specializing in online teaching and learning, from California State University, East Bay. His main technology interests include online collaboration tools and the use of live streaming video platforms for teaching and learning. In addition to his duties in the Office of Educational Technology, David volunteers to lead the UH Mindfulness Meditation program in the UH Wellness Center.

Ms. Fang Fang received her Master of Science degree from Indiana University in 2005. Before joining the University of Houston, she worked for Indiana University 2005 – 2007 and Kenyon College 2007 – 2011 with concentrations on web-based learning environment design, graphic and multimedia support, course management systems applications, podcasting, and new pedagogical tools research.

Thanh Tran received her Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Houston in 2014. Her professional interests are educational technology, teaching technology, literacy education, and English Language Learning education.

Dr. Hwang joined the CLASS team in 2016. He received his Ed.D degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Houston in 2009. Before joing the team, he used to work for Kansas Law Enforcement training center, a branch of University of Kansas from 2010 to 2013 in Wichita, Kansas. Also, he worked for University of Texas at Health Science Center in Houston as a senior instructional designer from 2013 to 2015. His main duty was to create e-learning courses using Adobe Captive and Lectore on Moodle. He is interested in several research agendas. His main interest is to capture the power of storytelling. Moreover, he is interested in storytelling related technology tool and research method such as digital storytelling, data visualization (data with storytelling) and narrative inquiry (storytelling-based research). Lastly, he has a particular interested in web standard and online course accessibility issues. 

Flor Velasquez, Web Developer

Flor joined the CLASS Web Services team in 2008. Since then, she has contributed towards the growth of the college’s online presence. She enjoys working with a variety web technologies in order to present an exceptional online experience for visitors to the college and department websites. She leverages her education with her hands-on experience creating code that ensures her clients are provided with quality web design. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston’s College of Technology.

Marylene Chan, Web Developer

Marylene is passionate about being creative and loves all things design. After freelancing for several clients with web design, she found her true passion. She seeks to learn new web development tools and looks to improve not only her technical skills but also incorporate beautiful design each step of the way.

Marylene has a BBA from the University of Texas and plans to pursue further studies in graphic design and web development.

Michael is a graduate student studying Materials Engineering. He is interested in web design as well as photography. In his spare time, he loves to play basketball and listen to music.

Jingyuan (Olivia) Fu

Jingyuan received her Master of Art degree in China in 2008. She is currently under the program of Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction in University of Houston. She is mainly interested in instructional technology tools that are related to learning which can make learning process easier and better for our learners. She likes traveling and in her spare time she enjoys working out at the gym.
