Keliy Anderson-Staley, assistant professor in the School of Art, has been named the Carol Crow Memorial Fellow for 2014.

The Houston Center for Photography awards the Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship every year to one Houston-based artist. The fellowship includes a $3,000 monetary award and a solo exhibition in the summer of 2014.

This year’s competition for the fellowship was juried by Elisabeth Biondi, an independent curator in New York City who worked for 15 years as the visuals editor of the New Yorker magazine.

Professor Anderson-Staley came to the University of Houston after teaching at universities in Arkansas and New Jersey and at the Center for Alternative Photography in New York City. She works in color film and a range of historic photographic processes, including wet-plate collodion.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College and her Master of Fine Art degree from Hunter College.
