Immanuel and Helen Olshan Foundation Young Artists Competition

The Preparatory & Continuing Studies Department hosted the eighth annual Immanuel and Helen Olshan Foundation Young Artists Competition on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00pm in Dudley Recital Hall.  And the winners are....

1st place: Carlos Cabrera (piano, studio of Dr. Chien-Jung Chen)
2nd place: Emily Wang (piano, studio of Kris Walters)
3rd place: Rae Valenzuela (piano, studio of Dr. Chien-Jung Chen)
Honorable Mention: Nikolas Baron (piano, studio of Christian Restrepo)

1st place: Kiana Ople (piano, studio of Kris Walters)
2nd place: Trevor Fu (piano, studio of Dr. Chien-Jung Chen)
3rd place: Grant Marshall (violin, studio of Dr. Julie Carlson)
Honorable Mention: Suravi Sarkar (voice, studio of Kisa Parker)
Honorable Mention: Sunny Wang (piano, studio of Kris Walters)

About the competition

The Young Artists Competition is open to students in grades K-12 who are currently enrolled in private lessons through PCS.  Participants are divided into three divisions, perform for a distinguished panel of judges, and scholarship prizes are awarded to the winners of each division.
