Bonjour, we are proud to promote the French language through weekly informal gatherings. At La Table française, we immerse ourselves in the French language and the cultures of France and other francophone countries through great conversation, tasty foods, fascinating films and much more. Learn more
Our goal is to promote interest in the German language and culture through activities such as bi-weekly meetings, special field trips, guest speakers, informal gatherings and German tv and movie viewing parties. Enrollment in German courses at UH is not required, and you don't have to be able to speak German -- anyone with an interest is welcome to join! After the brief business portion of each meeting those who want to can stay and chat auf Deutsch! Learn more
Japanese Culture Club
The Japanese Culture and Language Association is a student organization at the University of Houston. The JCLA is dedicated to the study, discussion, and promotion of Japanese language and culture." We like to talk about anything from history to modern fashion trends, and as the current officers have all taken Japanese, we provide small lessons and assistance with the Japanese language. We like to have traditional/modern craft workshops for members, and occasional group outings to Japanese restaurants.
We also have a Facebook group, where we post information on the club activities and various Japanese cultural tidbits. https://www.facebook.com/groups/uhjcla/
