Born in Sardara, a small town in the middle of Sardinia, Italy, Maria Mocci graduated at the University of Cagliari in Foreign Languages and Literatures. From the same institution she received a Master in Modern and Contemporary Literatures. At the University of F.O.R.C.O.M. took another Master in Foreign Modern Languages Teaching Didactics and also a specialization in the Didactics of History.

Besides working as professor, Prof. Mocci is currently the Cultural attaché at the Consulate General of Italy in Houston.
