Richard H. Armstrong is Associate Professor of Classical Studies in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, and a Fellow in The Honors College. He publishes on the reception of ancient culture in later times, Translation Studies, and the history of Psychoanalysis. His latest book is A Compulsion for Antiquity: Freud and the Ancient World (Cornell UP, 2006). His courses include Roman, Jew, and Christian, The Roman Republic, and Epic Masculinity -- all available for petitioned Honors credit. (Ph.D., Yale University)
