Hobby Symposium Series

The Hobby School of Public Affairs is proud to launch its symposium series. The symposium series was created:

  • To discuss the importance of current research at the Hobby School and its positive impact on the Houston community.

  • To provide a platform for the community, business leaders, and public officials to discuss pertinent topics surrounding legislation and public policy.

  • To spur innovative thinking and questioning to effectively change public policy.

Hobby School Symposium on Emergency Management and Evacuation

Please join us for a paneled discussion on how our local, state, and national governments coordinate to safely evacuate constituents, communicate breaking news, and manage disaster. Panelists include Eric Berger (Certified Meteorologist), Francisco Sánchez (Office of Judge Ed Emmett), Chief Nim Kidd (Department of Public Safety), and Thomas C. Lambert (METRO).

Sponsorship Opportunities

Presenting sponsor ($5,000):

  1. Will have the opportunity to introduce the topic and give welcome remarks at the event.
  2. Hobby School will feature company logo and sponsorship level on all promotional materials used. These materials include printed graphics, emails to students, faculty, staff, alumni, community, Hobby School website, Hobby School social media features, and digital signage on campus.
  3. The Hobby School will recognize the sponsor from the podium and on signage at the event.
  4. Sponsor will have a 6' tabletop space for promotions.
  5. Presenting sponsors will receive the opportunity to meet with all attendees and speakers in a reception directly following the event and VIP accommodations (complimentary drinks and parking). 
  6. Presenting sponsors are cordially invited to attend a private dinner after the reception with top industry executives, symposium speakers, and selected faculty. 

Supporting Sponsors ($2,500) will have access to the following benefits:

  1. Hobby School will feature company logo and sponsorship level on all promotional materials used. These materials include printed graphics, emails to students, faculty, staff, alumni, community, Hobby School website, Hobby School social media features, and digital signage on campus.
  2. The Hobby School will recognize the sponsor from the podium and on signage at the event.
  3. Sponsor will have a 6' tabletop space for promotions.
  4. Presenting sponsors will receive the opportunity to meet with all attendees and speakers in a reception directly following the event and VIP accommodations (complimentary drinks and parking).
