HCPP Annual Luncheon

debate

Who will become the next mayor of the nation’s fourth largest city
on November 3, 2015?

Please join the University of Houston Hobby Center for Public Policy for
a debate and luncheon on Tuesday, September 29 featuring the
leading candidates aspiring to become Houston’s next mayor.

With less than 3 weeks before early voting begins on October 19, the Hobby Center for Public Policy’s mayoral debate will be moderated by veteran reporters Texas Monthly’s Mimi Swartz and KHOU’s Doug Miller. The luncheon will be held on the stage of the Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater.

All luncheon proceeds benefit the 2016 Leland Fellows program. Leland Fellows offers University of Houston undergraduate students the opportunity to work as full-time interns in Washington, DC. Assigned to Texas congressional members, Leland Fellows gain knowledge of the legislative process by observation, participation, research and writing.  Combining supervised academic study with practical training allows the Fellows to earn upper level credit hours in political science while receiving a stipend and paid housing.
