Course Description
ENGL 4300: Introduction to the Study of Language
Overview of study in linguistics, introducing concepts of phonology,
morphology (word formation), syntax (sentence structure), and
semantics/pragmatics. The second half of the course includes language
acquisition theory, language variations, use, and applications.
