Priscilla Thorne Tinsley is an instructional assistant professor in the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication. She is also the owner of PTT Public Relations, LLC, a Houston-based public relations firm.
Tinsley has more than 27 years of professional experience developing and executing effective strategic communication, media relations, community relations and crisis management plans and programs for numerous companies and organizations in the corporate and non-profit sectors.
She is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Master of Arts in Communication (Public Relations), and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism in Public Relations.
Tinsley has been active with a number of professional and community organizations over the years, including serving as president of the Houston chapter of Public Relations Society of America. She was recently named 2019 PR Professional of the Year by the Houston Chapter of Public Relations Society of America; Outstanding Teaching by an Instructional Assistant Professor by the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication at the University of Houston; and Best Teacher by the Daily Cougar’s “Coogs Choose” Award, also at the University of Houston.
She is a certified Zumba instructor and an active tennis player. She is married and has two boys.
