Dr. Shawn McCombs

Dr. McCombs earned his Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Management Information Systems from the University of Houston in 1998, his Masters in Instructional Technology in 2003, and a Doctorate in Education - Curriculum and Instruction with specialization in Instructional Technology in 2010. He has worked in the Information Systems field for a number of years, most recently as the Director of the UH Apple Authorized Training & Testing Center and manager of the Communication Technology Center (CTC). He also serves as a faculty member for the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication.
In addition to teaching and administering the CTC, Dr. McCombs studies the impact of technology on communication and education, and the synergies that coexist between these areas. He teaches Communication Web Technologies I and II, as well as e-Health & Telemedicine at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
His formal training includes two years as a computing consultant for Enron, Corp., one year as a Desktop Publisher for StageLight Inc., one year in Systems Analysis and Design for Houston Community College System, and one year as a media services technician for MD Anderson Library.

Mr. Dung Huynh,BBA Management Information Systems

Dung earned his BBA in Management Information Systems (MIS) here at the University of Houston in 2000. He is responsible for the technical programming and administration of the Communications Technology Center (CTC) and employs superior specialization in transaction web processing, database management, systems administration in order to deliver quality computing to all our clients (faculty, staff, and students). Following a brief stint with UH’s ITAC, Dung brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the school’s technology mission.
Mr. Antonio Farias, BS Electrical Engineering
Antonio is a system analyst at Jack J. Valenti School of Communication, Univeristy of Houston. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - Computer Option - from the University of Houston in 2007. He has been active in Information Technology since 1999. His interest revolves around embedded systems, computer controlled systems, personal computers, computer networks, programming, information security, and databases.
