Welcome to the Excavators — Kindergarten/First Grade Class! We are truly excited in sharing in your child's development. Students take an active role in this process. Our curriculum is generated through our discussions with children. Children's ideas and interests are valued and are used as prompts for further inquiry and research. Every unit of study includes experiences involving number, science, literacy, social studies and art.

Our curriculum is highly integrated and aligned with state standards. Investigations, our math curriculum includes many opportunities for students to engage in new activities that develop number concepts. Our Literacy Collaborative Framework promotes a balanced literacy approach that includes Read-Aloud, Shared Reading, Guided Reading, Independent Writing and Work Study.

Poem: "There's Nothing in my bag today."
