Lily Morales - Lead Teacher |
|
 |
Hi, I am Lily Morales. I joined UHCCC in September 1987 as an Assistant Teacher. I took early
childhood classes, attended workshops and eventually earned a CDA teaching credential. Now I am a
Lead Teacher in the Infant/Toddler Program.
Before joining the University's Child Care Center, I participated in Austin High School's internship
program with local area elementary schools. After graduating, I enrolled in business school but I
felt in my heart that working with children was what I really longed to do. I came to the University
of Houston for classes but I had no idea that there was a center on campus for children. Much to
my surprise, the Child Care Center was so more than a Day Care. It was a Child Development Center
focused on creating a quality place for children to learn and grow. With this revelation, I choose
to make UHCCC my home. I am fortunate to have found my career for life – teaching, nurturing and
caring for young children, the most wonderful job in the world.
When I am not at the Center I enjoy photography, arts and crafts and spending time with
family and friends.

Jennifer Palma - Lead Teacher |
|
 |
Hi, I am Jennifer Palma, Lead Teacher for the Infant/Toddler Program. I have been a
part of the University of Houston Child Care Center since 2003. I graduated from the University
of Houston in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development/Family Studies and left
the Center for a while but I could not stay away, so I came back in January 2005.
After completing my degree and returning to UHCCC, I realized that to work with children
was a dream come true and that I had chosen the right degree and the right place to do so.
My experiences at the Child Care Center have been wonderful; it is a joy to work with the
children. I have learned so much from my peers and I am still learning. UHCCC is a great
place and I plan on being here for a long time.
When I am not at the Center, I enjoy reading, writing, playing tennis, being with my
family and friends, arts/crafts and traveling. Also, I am working on my Master’s
Degree in Psychology.
