October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Women's Resource Center and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program invite the UH community to donate needed items to the Houston Area Women's Center. HAWC provides safe haven for women and their children who are escaping abuse and continually need supplies for families.

Dr. Carpenter is the Allie S. Freed Professor of Government and Director of the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University. His lecture will be from 7 8:30 p.m. in the UH Rockwell Pavilion in the M.D. Anderson Library.

Lecture or Conference

Certain undocumented immigrants can now apply for renewable and temporary work permits, Social Security numbers and protection from deportation through DACA. This event will serve as a prescreening for applicants to determine eligibilty. Those eligible can come to the DACA clinic where they will be assisted through the application process by volunteers, lawyers and student attorneys.
