Short Biography:
I studied Molecular Biology and Genetics in Democritus University of Thrace in Greece and I decided to get my PhD in Houston. I moved here one year ago and so far I like life in Houston and I enjoy being part of a research programme.

Research description:
I am interested in cell signaling and especially pathways deregulated in cancer. MicroRNAs is also what attracts my attention during my first year of studies too and particularly microRNAs that can be use as a therapeutic approach for cancer treatment.

I am interested in understanding scaling relationships in Drosophila melanogaster. I work in Dr. Tony Frankino's lab. I like movies, long walks on the beach and spending all my time in the lab.

Short Biography:
I study the effect morphology has on fitness via performance. More specifically, I look at how temperature induced phenotypic plasticity in insect wings affects ability to avoid predators through changes in flight performance.

A Chinese student who came to Houston in August 2008. My small family are also here. I am really enjoying the research and life in Houston.

I'm currently interested in the evolution of ciliates (marine and freshwater, model and non-model species), with a broad topic from taxonomy, speciation, physiology to population genetics.
