SAMs For Interim Approval for the 1st Quarter, Fiscal Year 2013

The following SAMs have been submitted for Interim approval for Quarter 1, FY 2013.  To review the proposed changes, please select each policy name to view the linked document.


The column titled "Proposed Changes" briefly explains the updates that have been submitted for Interim approval.

SAM 01.D.07 - Discrimination and Harassment Policy
(Interim - New SAM)
This new SAM was submitted for Interim approval and Quarter 2, FY 2013 review cycle.
SAM 01.D.07 will be in the next quarter's Review Cycle to remove the Interim designation.
SAM 01.D.08 - Sexual Misconduct Policy
(Interim - New SAM)
This new SAM was submitted for Interim approval and Quarter 2, FY 2013 review cycle.
SAM 01.D.08 will be in the next quarter's Review Cycle to remove the Interim designation.
SAM 01.D.09 - Student Academic Adjustments/Auxiliary Aids Policy
(Interim - New SAM)
This new SAM was submitted for Interim approval and Quarter 2, FY 2013 review cycle.
SAM 01.D.09 will be in the next quarter's Review Cycle to remove the Interim designation.
SAM 03.A.03 - Business Travel (Interim) Added Section 2.5 on deadline for submittal of travel reimbursements. The Chancellor's meals and lodging information was added to Section 2.13., and airfare information was added to Section 2.14.
SAM 03.A.03 will be in the next quarter's Review Cycle to remove the Interim designation.
SAM 03.A.21 - Employee's Family Travel Expenses (Interim) Added information to Section 2.2 that if travel for the Chancellor's family member is approved, the same guidelines that apply to the Chancellor's travel arrangements, payments, and reimbursements will apply to the Chancellor's accompanying family member per SAM 03.A.03, Sections 2.13 and 2.14.
SAM 03.A.21 will be in the next quarter's Review Cycle to remove the Interim designation.
SAM 03.D.03 - Employee Time Reporting (Interim) Added new Revision Log. Title of SAM 03.D.03 changed from "Employee Time and Effort Reporting" to "Employee Time Reporting." Removed all references to "effort" in the documentation. Added hyperlinks to websites and documents as applicable. Added information to Section 2.5 concerning the process of approving employee timesheets. Added documentation to
Section 2.6 on the Personal Advantage Self Service (P.A.S.S.) and the requirement for documenting leave before the end of the month when the leave was taken by the employee. Removed Section 2.7 on time and effort reports by principal investigators. Removed information on adjunct faculty and retention requirements for timesheets in Section 2.7. Added Section 2.8 on sponsored research and the effort certification process. Changed the review period from every three years on or before December 31st to every five years on or before December 31st. Removed "Effective Date" from Section 4. Removed Section 6, Indexing Terms.
SAM 03.D.03 will be in the next quarter's Review Cycle to remove the Interim designation.
