SAMs Reviewed During FY09 - 3rd Quarter

The following SAMs were recommended for review by the component university subject matter experts. The review period concluded and changes are currently being distributed for approval. The column titled "Proposed Changes" briefly explains the updates that were submitted.

SAM Number and Name Proposed Changes
SAM 01.C.01 - Risk Management Policy Position titles were updated in SAM 01.C.01, and wording was updated throughout to be consistent with other SAMs. Due to a reorganization, “Environmental Health and Risk Management” was changed to “Risk Management,” and the responsible party was updated. These changes were made by the Office of Risk Management.
SAM 01.C.14 - Identity Theft New SAM 01.C.14 was drafted to establish an Identity Theft Prevention Program designed to detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Red Flags Rule. These changes were made by the Office of Risk Management.
SAM 02.D.06 - Family and Medical Leave Content of SAM 02.D.06 was reorganized and updated to reflect legislative changes including, but not limited to, the addition of Family Military Leave provisions. These changes were proposed by the chief human resources officers.
SAM 03.A.05 - Contract Administration Proposed changes to SAM 03.A.05 include reassigning the policy to Legal Affairs and updating wording throughout to align it with current legislation and Board policy.  Contracting authority was also updated to reflect the current practices of the Chancellor's Delegation of Signature Authority.  The requirement to designate and hold an employee personally liable was removed from Section 3.1.b and state agency reporting and definitions of consulting and professional services were expanded. These changes were proposed by the Office of Legal Counsel and the Office of Finance.
SAM 03.A.13 - Moving and Relocation Expenses Position titles were updated in SAM 03.A.13, and wording was updated throughout to be consistent with other SAMs. These changes were proposed by the Office of Finance.  
SAM 03.D.07 - Direct Deposit of Salaries SAM 03.D.07 has been updated to require all employees paid through the payroll system to be paid via direct deposit or pay card. These changes were proposed by the Office of Finance.
