Fiscal Year 2018 - 3rd Quarter MAPPs in Executive Review

The following MAPPs have been recommended for review by University of Houston Subject Matter Experts. To review the proposed changes, please select each policy name to view the linked document and send your comments, if any, to by May 25, 2018 (Friday).

The column titled "Proposed Changes" briefly explains the updates that have been submitted. The column titled "Review Comments" indicates the comments/suggestions received during the Campus Review of the policies listed below.

MAPP 01.01.01 - Administrative Policies and Procedures Added to note in Section VI.B on review periods varying from annually to every three years. Updated titles as applicable.
Updates were completed by the Office of University Policies and Procedures.
MAPP 01.02.01 - Business Administration Added new Revision Log. Changed titles as applicable. Corrected title to Student Affairs and Enrollment Services in Section II.B.3, and added University Marketing, Communication and Media Relations. No additional changes were indicated by the Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Updates were completed by the Office of Finance and the Office of Internal Audit.

This document has been revised after the documented review cycle period, so it will be presented for a full review cycle.
MAPP 02.02.05 - Moving and Relocation Expenses Updated MAPP Template and added new Revision Log. Changed definition of personal effects in Section II.B. Updated Section III.B for moving at least 50 miles farther than the former home and working in the new location for 12 months following the move. Changed location for Authorization for Moving and Relocation Expenses form throughout text. Added Concur information throughout text as applicable. Added furnishing a copy of MAPP 02.02.05 to new employees moving to UH to Section III.H. Added information to
Section III.I regarding moving being tax deductible with specific account codes; removed extra examples from Section III.I.2. Added a 60-day maximum for temporary quarters to Section III.I.3. Revised examples in Section J for moving expenses which are not allowed. Removed
Section III.K on possible non-taxable expenses. Removed Section V.C on employees seeking reimbursement rules; and added the rules to
Section VI.B. Revised and removed specific moving and relocation accounts in Section VII. Added Section X, References. All information is based on current 2018 tax guidelines.
Updates were completed by the Office of Finance and the Office of Tax Information.
MAPP 02.02.07 - Return-To-Work Program Updated links and titles as applicable. Added "suspended or not initiated" to Section VI.B about temporary income benefits if SORM does not approve them. No additional changes were indicated by the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Updates were completed by the Office of Risk Management.

FULL REVIEW CYCLE due to six (6) years between review cycles for document.
MAPP 10.03.04 - Connecting Devices to University Networks Revised Section III.E to add monetary damages from installation of an unauthorized device.
Updates were completed by the Office of University Information Technology (UIT).
MAPP 12.05.01 - University of Houston Faculty Workload Policy

Pursuant to Texas Education Code, Section 51.402 and University of Houston System (UHS) Board of Regents Policy 21.05, this MAPP establishes the general workload policy for all faculty members employed at the University of Houston and is designed to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of faculty workload in meeting the mission and operational needs of academic units.
