MAPPs Reviewed During FY09 - 3rd Quarter

The following MAPPs were recommended for review by the University of Houston subject matter experts. The review period concluded and changes are currently being distributed for approval.  The column titled "Proposed Changes" briefly explains the changes that have been submitted.

MAPP Number and Name Proposed Changes
MAPP 01.01.01 - Administrative Policies and Procedures Position titles were corrected throughout MAPP 01.01.01 and the wording was updated to be consistent with other MAPPs. A five-day maximum review/approval of suggested changes by subject matter experts/approvers was also added. These changes were proposed by the Office of Policies and Procedures.
MAPP 01.03.04 - Identity Theft New MAPP 01.03.04 was drafted to establish an Identity Theft Prevention Program designed to detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft in compliance with the Federal Trade Commissionís (FTC) Red Flags Rule. This new procedure was drafted by the Office of Environmental Health and Risk Management.
MAPP 04.01.03 - Vouchers Definitions of digital printing/copying and offset printing were added to MAPP 04.01.03. A provision requiring the submission of an employee's non-overnight transportation within one year of the first dateof non-overnight transportation was also added. These changes were proposed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 05.03.01 - Employee Financial Responsibility The definition of delinquent debt was updated, and the definition of and all reference to the Master Check List was removed in MAPP 05.03.01.  The statement regarding ineligibility of employees to enter into payment plans/agreements was removed. Sanctions and provisions regarding returned checks and delinquent debt were consolidated and rewritten.  Employees are not eligible for action resulting in increased status or benefit until the debt is paid in full. These changes were proposed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 12.03.02 - Substantive Change in Academic Programs The new MAPP 12.03.02 was written to provide policies and procedures for significant modification or expansion of an academic program, college, or institution within the University of Houston. The development of this policy was in response to a SACS observation and recommendation. This procedure was drafted by the Office of Academic Affairs.
MAPP 14.01.01 - Campus Sustainability The new MAPP 14.01.01 was written to establish policy and responsibilities for the University's sustainability activities and initiatives. This procedure was drafted by the Campus Sustainability group.
