SAM 01.C.12 - Animals on University Campuses (Interim) (Revised Title)
April 8, 2019
This policy describes the limited circumstances under which animals are allowed on campuses of the UH System. The highlight of important changes are to incorporate legal changes compliant with federal law, and to clarify language on University-sponsored activities.
Interim SAM 01.C.12 was approved in Quarter 3, FY 2019.

SAM 01.D.11 - Emotional
Support Animals
(New SAM)
April 4, 2019
This policy outlines the process for requesting and the parameters for maintaining an emotional support animal in UHS Housing.
New SAM 01.D.11 was in the Quarter 2, FY 2019 Review Cycle.

SAM 01.D.12 - Service Animals (New SAM)
April 4, 2019
This policy applies to individuals who have a disability and require the use of a Service Animal for assistance.
New SAM 01.D.12 was in the Quarter 2, FY 2019 Review Cycle.

SAM 01.D.13 - Electronic and Information Resources Accessibility
April 4, 2019
This policy establishes rules for the procurement, development, maintenance and use of electronic and information resources accessible for persons with disabilities. This policy changed locations from Section 7 (Information Technology) to Section 1 (Legal Affairs).
SAM 01.D.13 was in the Quarter 2, FY 2019 Review Cycle.

SAM 03.G.02 - Agency Funds (Interim)
April 16, 2019
This policy defines the responsibilities for agency funds (funds that do not belong to the System but which the System acts in a fiduciary capacity), including the sponsoring of funds, the allowable purposes and use of funds that can be processed by the System, and accountability for the funds.
Revisions are required for compliance with IRS regulations.
All revisions significantly affect College/Division operations as pertains to Agency Funds.
Revisions of Note: 1) Restrict the uses of agency funds to three allowable purposes: scholarships that are not qualified as gifts, pass-through activities, and student organizations; and 2) prohibits the payment for employment relationships using agency funds as employment relationships must be processed via Human Resources.

Interim SAM 03.G.02 was approved in Quarter 3, FY 2019.
