Downloading HR Reports to Excel

If you would like to be able to manipulate the data in your HR reports (BOB, Labor Distribution, Journal Detail Report), here are some helpful hints for downloading these reports into an Excel format:

  • Select report parameters.

  • Click Run.

  • Report Type – Web.

  • Report Format – Select LP.

  • Click OK.

  • Go to Process Monitor.

  • When Run Status Reads Success, Click on Details.

  • Click View Log/Trace.

  • Click on the .LIS file.

  • Save your report as Text file.

  • Open your Excel Program.

  • Open the report.

  • You will receive a message that the document is not in a recognizable format, click OK.

  • You will be directed to the Text Import Wizard.

  • Click Next.

  • Assure that columns are in correct place. To define a column, click on the gridline on your ruler.

  • Click Next.

  • For each column, select whether your text should be read as words or numerals.

  • Example: If there is a date column, highlight the column and choose the radio button “Date.”

  • Click Next.

  • Your report will appear in Excel.
