In FY07, MAPP 01.03.03 – Business Continuity
Plan was implemented, which established the
framework for university business continuity
plans. In this MAPP, Administration and
Finance is identified as the responsible
party for establishing guidelines and
enacting an annual monitoring mechanism for
ensuring timely completion of updates to
university business continuity plans. As
part of this MAPP, Administration and
Finance created a template for departments
to use in the formation of their business
continuity plans.
For the first phase implemented in FY07, all
colleges and divisions created and uploaded
business continuity plans to the PIER
System.
It’s time to update the college/division
business continuity plans for FY08. To
complete this process, please:
1. With key members of your department,
review FY07 Business Continuity Plan in the
Pier System located
here.
For first-time users of the system, please
follow the instructions provided
here.
If you are unable to log into the system,
please contact Emily Messa at 3-8184.
2. After you have reviewed the FY07 plan,
please update your business continuity plan,
using the BCP template for FY08, which can
be accessed
here.
All FY08 plans should utilize the FY08
template for consistency.
3. Please make sure to complete all three
tabs on the Excel template workbook: BCP
Strategies, Key Questions and provide an
updated contact list of key college/division
staff.
4. Please send in your FY08 Business
Continuity Plan to Emily Messa at
eamessa@uh.edu
by Monday, March 3, 2008.
