Recycling Team Contest
Form a team and recycle to help UH
go green!
Who May Enter?
Any UH staff, student or faculty
teams.
How do I enter?
Form a team of 5 people or more
that is comprised of UH students,
staff or faculty to collect
recycling on campus or at any of the
residence halls and on-campus
apartments.
Name your team.

complete an entry form with your
team name and contact information.
Entries will be accepted from
February 3rd – March 2nd.
What do I do?
After submitting the Recycling
Contest Entry Form, stop by room 226
E. Cullen and pick up bags to
collect recyclables.
Fill your bags with recyclables
all week (plastic bottles/aluminum
cans/mixed paper).
Legibly write your group name,
contact information and date
collected with a permanent marker on
each bag.
Drop off bags of recyclables at
the bay in the General Services
Building (bldg #585) each Friday
between 1-2pm.
The number of full bags will be
counted by a staff member of the
Recycling Department and a receipt
will be issued to the group. The UH
Recycling Department will also track
the number of full bags each group
brings drops off.
Continue collecting recyclables
until Friday, March 27.
What recyclables can I pick up?
Any plastic bottles, aluminum cans
and paper generated on campus (in
offices, on-campus apartments,
residence halls, at campus business
meetings and events).
Please separate recyclables by
type (paper in one bag, cans/bottles
in another).
Please do not pick up recyclables
from the “UH Recycles” bins. Teams
may be disqualified for removing
recyclables from these bins.
Results
The results will be posted at
www.uh.edu/recyclemania every
Monday.
The winners will receive their
awards at the UH RecycleMania
closing ceremonies on
March 31st at
noon in the UC Satellite.
Awards
1st place - $150 per team gift card
or office luncheon with equivalent
value for UH departments plus
trophy.
2nd place - $100 per team gift card
or office luncheon with equivalent
value for UH departments.
3rd place - $50 per team gift card
or office coffee break with
equivalent value for UH departments.
