Kick-off Week - January 19th
Pep Rally “Three Cheers for Recycling” – January 21st
•  At the UC Satellite, 11:45-12:30
•  Introduction of the event
•  Showcase recycling bins
•  RecycleManiacs teach the University three recycling cheers

January 27th and 28th
• Students – obtain discounted Q Cards
• UH Green Commuter Fair – Find your METRO stop and route to UH
• Highlight METRO/UH partnership
• VPSI on hand to sign up van pools
• Students, faculty and staff that complete the e-pledge and obtain their Q card will receive a UH Green Commuter package (includes reusable water bottle, Green UH commuter button, pen, METRO Money)

February 5th
• Dedication of the campus produce garden – Lynn Eusan Park near Parking Lot 5B
• Campus Produce Garden Planting

Week of February 9th
• Van Pool/Car Pool Fair with VPSI
• On-line event

Week of February 16th
• “Reduce Waste, Make a Clean Plate Week”
RecycleManiacs will be in the dining halls distributing stickers to people who clean their plate. Click here for more information.

Week of February 24th and 25th

• Two UH RecycleManiacs at each table
• Two-hour sessions
• Seed paper recycling facts to give to all
• Showcase – “good to recycle” vs “bad to recycle”

Week of March 2nd
“Dorm Storms”
• Monday 6:00-7:30 p.m.
• Competition by floor of each residence hall
• UH RecycleManiacs knock on residents’ doors to collect recycling
• Educate halls about recycling
• Publish # of bags of recycling collected
• Pictures of winning floors on web

“UH Apartments Recycle”
• Tuesday 6:00-7:30 p.m.
• UH RecycleManiacs go door to door collecting recycling
• Educate community about recycling
• Publish # of bags of recycling collected
• Publish pictures of the event on the web site

“Building Swarms” all week, spontaneous
• Provide recycling bins to offices on campus – educate offices about recycling.

March 11, 2009
“Recycling Olympics”
• 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Outside Campus Recreation and Wellness Center
• Games: Dumpster Dive, Phonebook Shot Put, Recycled Art Contest and Can Toss

Week of March 23rd
Caught “Green Handed”
• Monday-Friday
• “Caught Greenhanded” Buttons for people seen recycling, turning off lights, reusing water bottles, bicycling, riding the shuttle bus, taking public transportation, and eating all the food on their plate. Publish pictures of students, faculty and staff caught greenhanded in the newspaper and on web site.

RecycleMania Closing Ceremony
