Grammy Winner John Prine Coming to UH this Spring

UH Dining Introduces Late Night Food Truck Option for Students

Houston, Jan. 8, 2014 — Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter John Prine is coming to the University of Houston.

The concert will take place Friday, May 15, at 8 p.m. in Cullen Performance Hall. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at, by phone at 713-462-6647 or at the TDECU Stadium Ticket Office, 3750 Cullen Blvd. Tickets are $49.50 and $59.50, not including service fees.

Long considered a "songwriter's songwriter," Prine is a rare talent whose songs have been recorded by such artists as Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, the Everly Brothers, John Denver, Kris Kristofferson, Carly Simon, Ben Harper and Joan Baez.

He has earned immeasurable accolades in his career, including two Grammys and the distinction of being one of the few songwriters honored by the Library of Congress and US Poet Laureate.
