Faculty, Staff Invited to UH Football Ticket Giveaway and Tailgate

Houston, Sept. 15, 2016 —Last season, the UH football team had a near perfect season under the masterful coaching of Tom Herman. The team's only defeat was against the University of Connecticut Huskies. This season, the Cougars will have a chance to avenge that loss on Thursday, Sept. 29, at TDECU Stadium. UH faculty and staff are invited to join in the "REDemption."

UH Faculty Senate and UH Staff Council will host two major events geared toward faculty and staff preceding the UH vs. UConn game.

The first event will be a Game Day Ticket Giveaway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 23, in the Student Center South Downtown Room (Room 261). At this event, representatives from UH Athletics will be on hand to distribute free tickets to the game and T-shirts to UH employees.

Free tickets are limited to one per person while supplies last, but faculty and staff will be able to purchase additional discounted tickets at $10 each. The tickets will all be reserved seating, so faculty and staff who wish to sit together with friends, family and/or large groups are encouraged to purchase any additional tickets at the same time as receiving their free one. Light refreshments will be served. Employees must present their UH ID for entry.

Faculty Senate and Staff Council will also host the Cougar "REDemption" Faculty/Staff Tailgate on game day (Sept. 29) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Shasta's Square/Gate 4. The tailgate will have free food, drinks, music and plenty of swag for UH employees and their families. Faculty and staff will need their UH ID for entry and must bring a driver's license or other government-issued photo ID if they wish to consume alcoholic beverages.

Game time will be at 7 p.m. inside TDECU Stadium.
