Sexual Assault Awareness Month Events Scheduled on UH Campus

Houston, April 6, 2015 — April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Sexual violence is a serious public health issue that affects all communities. Although women are more predominant victims of sexual assaults, adults and children of both sexes can also be potential victims of sexual assault.

The University of Houston Police Department is partnering with the UH Health Center to provide more awareness regarding this issue. Please join them at the following events:

Monday, April 13

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Sexual Assault Community Resource Fair at the Student Center Circle Drive
  • 7-8 p.m. - Helping a Peer Who Has Been Affected by Sexual Assault at Bayou Oaks, first floor lounge

Wednesday, April 15

  • noon-1:30 p.m. - Supporting Students Who Are Victims and Survivors of Sexual Assault at the Campus Rec Rotunda Classroom (1004)
  • 8-9 p.m. - Helping a Peer Who Has Been Affected by Sexual Assault at Cougar Village 1, Lounge N711
