Security Officer Receives Employee of the Month Award
Houston, July 17, 2014 — Security Officer Mike Sylvester was awarded the UH Department of Public Safety Staff Employee of the Month award for May.
As a result, Sylvester has received a framed certificate and a gift certificate. He has been with the University since October 2010 and is assigned to work at the UH Victoria campus.
While providing a safe and secure campus environment, the security officers at UHV are often unsung heroes. The security officers are appreciated for identifying not only routine security issues, but detecting, recognizing and taking appropriate actions regarding crimes that are ongoing or have just occurred.
These traits have been illustrated by Sylvester's actions while patrolling Jaguar Village. Through his actions, charges have been processed relating to various incidents.
His strong dedication to protecting the Victoria campus has been demonstrated through his daily work.
