Parking Self Service Will be Unavailable During Site Update

Houston, March 4, 2016 — UH's Parking and Transportation Services department soon will be launching a new online system for purchasing permits, requesting METRO cards, paying citations and more.

The new site, which will be replacing the current "Parking Self Service," will still be accessible through AccessUH via the same icon as before, but now it will be called "myParking Account."

In order to make the transition to the new system, Parking Self Service will be unavailable beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, through 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 15.

The department had its customers in mind when it decided to make the switch.

"The new system is more user-friendly and easy to navigate," said Bob Browand, director of Parking and Transportation Services. "It was built with responsive design so it will be easy to use whether you're on your smartphone, tablet or desktop. Plus, there's an opportunity for us to expand our online services, which will come in handy as our department grows."
