Houston, Sept. 1, 2015 —Students, faculty and staff who have used the Cougar Line shuttles recently may have noticed something different about them.

The shuttles were updated with a new look more in line with the UH Powerhouse marketing campaign just in time for the fall semester.

"The University of Houston is a world-class institution with a growing reputation for excellence. The 'Welcome to the Powerhouse' campaign highlights our monumental achievements in a bold, direct way and educates everyone about the University's value," said Richie Hunter, vice chancellor/vice president of University Marketing, Communication and Media Relations.

The buses have been re-wrapped in the University's signature red and white colors, making them bolder and more visible. They also sport the signature slogan "Welcome to the Powerhouse."

"We're proud to support the Powerhouse campaign and promote its message of excellence to students, faculty, staff and visitors who use the Cougar Line shuttles," said Bob Browand, director of Parking and Transportation Services.

The Powerhouse campaign, officially launched in the fall of 2014, already has garnered significant presence in the Houston community. Digital ads run on elevator screens located in several Houston skyscrapers, including buildings downtown, in the Galleria area and the Texas Medical Center. Large-scale banners and signage also grace jet bridges, gate posters and movable walkways at Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport.

"The Powerhouse campaign focuses on the fact that we are innovative and powerful," Hunter said. "Innovation drives the entrepreneurial spirit of our campus, inspires student success and fuels the University's momentum as a leading education and research institution. We gain power from innovation."
