UHPD Prepares for Click It or Ticket Campaign

click it or ticket

Houston, May 19, 2014 - The University of Houston Police Department has been busy preparing for the Click It or Ticket campaign, which runs May 19 through June 1.

The nationwide campaign motivates motorists to use seat belts by cracking down on violators, which in turn cuts down on the number of traffic fatalities.

Sgt. Dina Padovan and Sgt. LaTorsha Batts attended the Click it or Ticket kickoff meeting with other Houston area law enforcement representatives on May 8 at Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston. While there, the officers had an opportunity to speak with a woman who said the reason she survived a major car crash was because she was wearing a seatbelt.
