Cydney Rax Recognized by March of Dimes

UH Dining Introduces Late Night Food Truck Option for Students

Houston, Nov. 12, 2014 — During its annual campaign earlier this year, the March of Dimes offered several incentives to supporters.

One was a drawing for team leaders to win a Macy's gift card after a certain dollar amount was contributed on behalf of their team.

Cydney Rax was shocked to learn she was one of two recipients at the University of Houston who had won. When she was notified that she'd won, she actually ignored the email and thought it was a joke. But the joke was on her when she realized that the message was true.

Rax, who represents the Department of Public Safety and works as an administrative assistant for Environmental Health and Life Safety, was pleased when March of Dimes employee Jessica Peterson showed up at her job to present the award on Friday, Nov. 7. The department was so excited they surprised Rax during the presentation with balloons, a banner and more goodies. She was thankful and grateful for everyone's support.

The March of Dimes acknowledgement is just one way that the organization lets supporters know that the hard work that goes into supporting babies and moms is appreciated, and that they value the efforts extended regarding people in need.
