GO GREEN AND GET CHEAP REFILLS WITH A UH DINING GREEN THREAD MUG

Save some money and the environment with a Green Thread Reusable Mug from UH Dining Services. The 24-ounce mugs, which are available for purchase in the UC Food Court and all campus c-stores, are BPA free, hold hot and cold drinks, fit in most cup holders and are dishwasher and microwave safe. Each mug costs $4.99 and can be purchased using cash, credit or Cougar Cash.

Customers who use their mug for fountain drinks around campus will pay a special price of only 99 cents per refill. They’ll also be able to take one drink to-go from either the Fresh Food Company or RFoC dining hall.

UH Dining Services invested in the mugs to cut down on the amount of paper waste from disposable cups.

“UH is constantly searching for ways to become more green, and this is one more thing we could do to help on that mission,” said Misty Pierce, marketing program manager with UH Dining Services. “In addition, the reusable mugs are just more convenient for the campus lifestyle – they’re library friendly and they don’t drip condensation everywhere.”
