Campus Safety's Zhen Fu Receives Promotion

Houston, Oct. 4, 2018 —University of Houston Campus Safety congratulates Zhen Fu, who has been promoted to safety manager in the Environmental Health and Life Safety Department.

In her new position, which went into effect Sept. 20, Fu is responsible for the implementation and management of the first chemical safety program at UH, said Environmental Health and Life Safety Director Joe Tremont.

This task subsequently includes establishing a chemical safety committee whose purpose will be to oversee the safety of chemicals and labs.

Fu has been employed in Environmental Health and Life Safety since September 2014. She earned a doctorate degree in physical and analytical chemistry from UH. She has a master's degree in physical chemistry from the Institute of Functional Material Chemistry in China.
