UH Community Invited to COAST Alternative Transportation Summit

UH Community Invited to COAST Alternative Transportation Summit

Houston, May 8, 2018 - UH Parking and Transportation will be hosting its first-ever COAST Alternative Transportation Summit on Monday, May 14, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Pavilion in the M.D. Anderson Library.

This event is designed to share with faculty, staff and students an array of alternative and sustainable transportation services that can save them money and make their commute to and from campus easier.

The program will begin with several presentations by leadership from UH Parking and Transportation and UH Sustainability about the state of alternative transportation on campus and its growing importance. Then exhibitors from throughout the city of Houston will spend several minutes introducing their programs and services.

After these presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to walk around and speak directly with the organizations about ride-sharing services, city bike paths, METRO and more.

"The University of Houston is a rapidly growing university in an urban location, which means it is more important than ever that our faculty, staff and students take advantage of the alternative transportation options available to them," said Bob Browand, director of UH Parking and Transportation, "We want to provide our campus community an opportunity to ask questions and work directly with organizations to find a form of sustainable transportation that suits their needs."

Attendance to the COAST Alternative Transportation Summit is free and open to all UH faculty, staff and students. Attendees can enjoy coffee and the chance to win one of the door prizes from the organizations at the event. For more information about which organizations will be in attendance, visit the Parking Outreach page.
