Cougar Village I Evacuation Routes
Due to the construction of Cougar Village II and
its construction fence, evacuation routes out of Cougar
Village-I have been modified. The evacuation map was attached to
the room doors of all Cougar Village residents.
The Fire Marshal’s Office has offered a few evacuation tips
in the event of an evacuation:
• Know at least two exits other than the elevators
• Know campus emergency numbers 3-3333 or 911
• Participate in all fire drills and taking them seriously
• Alert people on the floor so they can begin evacuation
• Know your meeting place outside
• Assign one person and a backup to assist with evacuating each
disabled individual.
• Confine the fire by closing all doors and windows
• Remain outside the building until allowed back in by the
University Police
