AS ONE DOOR CLOSES, SEVERAL OTHERS OPEN AT UH DINING SERVICES
These are
exciting times at UH Dining
Services. New ventures are underway,
and we’re tailoring the dining
choices on campus to better fit the
students, faculty and staff of the
University of Houston.
While many of the changes involve
bringing new services to campus, two
locations - Chili’s Too in the
University Center and the C3 store
in Moody Towers - will be closing
their doors.
Chili’s Too, which has seen waning
demand in recent years, will serve
its last meal on Friday, May 13,
2011. The C3 store will close during
the summer and give way to a new
Cougar Xpress Market in Cougar
Village. The Cougar Xpress Market
will be modeled in the same style as
the market in Calhoun Lofts. It will
sell traditional convenience items
along with detergent, toiletries and
fresh groceries to help residential
students who do not have the time or
ability to venture off campus for
these items.
“We at UH Dining Services are very
excited to bring our second Cougar
Xpress Market to the campus,” said
Tony Urso, resident district
manager. “Our new state-of-the-art
convenience store will offer
students everything from grocery
items to our new ICEE station.”
Further in the future, UH Dining
Services will open a Taco Cabana and
a Provisions On Demand (POD) Express
Market in the soon-to-be-built
parking garage near Robertson
Stadium. Opening of the garage and
these locations is scheduled for
August 2012.
