During the winter break, University of Houston Dining Services transitioned all of the Java City coffee locations in campus convenience stores to EcoGrounds locations.
The new locations feature sustainable, economically responsible coffees that align with Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance guidelines.
The switch was brought on by the University’s participation in the national Fair Trade Campaign, which partners with colleges and universities to offer Fair Trade products at all campus dining locations and at catered events.
Refreshed locations will feature new equipment, educational information about EcoGrounds and a variety of new coffee roasts. At least two of the coffees and teas in every location will be Fair Trade certified.
