TEXTBOOK LOANS AVAILABLE IN THE SPRING
helps to ease some financial woes of
students by offering short-term
textbook loans each semester.
Starting on Jan. 2, 2011, students
can apply to receive $400 to assist
them in paying for textbooks for
their spring semester courses.
The short-term textbook loans are
offered by the university each
semester to all students, whether
professional, graduate or
undergraduate, enrolled in at least
six hours of class. Students can
apply for the financial assistance
for the spring semester until Feb.
2, 2011 at my.uh.edu.
Once the loan is approved, students
will be able to purchase their
textbooks at any Barnes and Noble UH
bookstore location on campus. The
funds become available at the
bookstore within two hours of the
request. All you will need is a
proof of identification to claim
your loan. Students receiving the
loan will have until Feb. 14 to
purchase their books. For the fall
and spring semesters, a flat amount
of $400 is given to applicants.

There is no restriction on the
number of students who can receive
the loan each semester. In the fall,
1,896 students took advantage of
this financial assistance. By
allowing students to pay off the
loan over a 60-day period through
their PeopleSoft accounts, students
can be sure they will be able to
purchase their books before classes
