UH DINING SERVICES MANAGERS RECOGNIZED FOR LEADERSHIP

On July 13, 2011 the team at UH Dining Services (UHDS) was recognized for outstanding leadership and successful project completion by leaders from ARAMARK, UH Dining’s parent company.

ARAMARK awarded the honors based on THRIVE, a leadership program in place at each location. THRIVE encourages all employees to be Thoughtful, Heartfelt, Results Driven, Innovative, Valued & Trusted, and Engaged. At the annual THRIVE summit this summer, both the entire UHDS team and several individual managers were recognized for their alignment with these ideals and contributions to both the company and their respective campuses.

The entire UHDS team won the gold award for successfully opening the 33,000 sq. ft. Fresh Food Company with a turnaround time of only 91 days. The team pulled together to ensure that the facility was finished in time for the new academic year and that the food quality and level of customer service far exceeded the expectations of both the restaurant’s patrons and upper-management.

Misty Pierce, Unit Marketing Manager with UHDS, won the silver award for greatly expanding the meal plan program across campus and for working diligently to offer the benefits of having a meal plan to students living in nearby apartment complexes as well as those commuting from further away. She not only increased meal plan participation across campus but also played a key role in increasing customer satisfaction with the meal plan program.

Dawn Rose, Food Service Director at UH Victoria, won the bronze award for single-handedly opening the very first dining hall on the UHV campus in its brand new residence hall. Rose delivered a fulfilling experience to the first residential class on the UHV campus and continues to produce a wonderful product for the students, faculty and staff who had never before been able to enjoy such a meal on campus.

“I would like to congratulate Dawn, Misty and the entire UH team on their THRIVE awards for 2011,” said UHDS District Manager Tony Urso. “They have all achieved such great accomplishments, and it’s a privilege and an honor to be a part of this dynamic group of people.”
