Textbook loans available for the fall semester

By Kristina Michel

University of Houston students in need of extra financial assistance to buy textbooks for the fall semester can apply for a textbook loan.

The short-term loan offers $400 to use toward buying textbooks and school supplies at the UH Bookstore, located inside the Student Center South. Students can apply for the loan until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, and they must be used in the bookstore no later than Sept. 18. Every UH student qualifies to receive a textbook loan regardless of whether they are receiving financial aid.

To apply for a textbook loan, students should follow these easy steps:

  • Log into AccessUH
  • Select the myUH icon
  • Select “Student Financials”
  • Select “Optional Fees”
  • Select the term for the loan
  • Select the magnifying glass icon on the book loan row Choose BKLOAN under “Valid Value”
  • Click “Save”

For more information about textbook loans, check out the “Auxiliaries & You” blog. Also, visit the blog to learn about the UH Bookstore’s price-matching policy on textbooks that helps students save even more money on their textbooks.
