Financial Data Warehouse Launched
Launch
The Finance data warehouse was
officially launched on the
University of Houston campus, March
the 26th, 2009. The warehouse
provides a gateway to financial data
stored in a fashion conducive to
high-level reporting, and features
interactive, ad-hoc functionality,
multiple year trending, graphing and
dashboard display. Moreover, the
data warehouse environment enables
quick access to university financial
data that is current, accurate, and
consistent.
The first phase of the finance data
warehouse features general ledger
account balance reports, including
HEAF fund equity balances, fund
equity balance by fund group, and
fund equity balances for state
appropriations. In addition, asset,
liability, equity, revenue and
expenditure account information is
available. The warehouse is updated
nightly and contains data from 1998
to the present.
Mission
The data warehouse is designed to
provide timely, relevant information
that is readily available to campus
leadership in a consistent and
accurate manner.
Moreover, the warehouse will play a
key role in the strategic planning
and budgeting process by enabling
trend and performance measure
analysis, as well as forecast
modeling. Such a resource will
facilitate the assessment of our
progress toward the goals,
objectives and strategies set out by
university leadership by allowing
for frequent status checks on key
indicators.
Access
The data warehouse is web-based and
has its own URL:
data.uh.edu. For
