LIGHT
RAIL
CONSTRUCTION
TO BEGIN
DOWNTOWN
In late
April,
light
rail
construction
will
begin on
Capitol,
Rusk and
San
Jacinto
streets
in
Downtown
Houston.
This
work
includes
the
relocation
of
private
utility
lines on
Capitol
from La
Branch
to
Chartres,
on Rusk
from
Fannin
to
Jackson,
and on
San
Jacinto
from
Rusk to
Capitol.
Some
lane
closures
will be
required
to
complete
the
work.
However,
at least
two
lanes of
traffic
will
remain
open
during
construction. |

Parking lots and garages will remain accessible, though there may be construction occurring nearby |

Certain sidewalks and crossings may be closed to ensure your safety. Pedestrian detours will be clearly marked |

contracted
with
Houston
Rapid
Transit
(HRT), a
joint
venture,
to
handle
all
aspects
of
construction. |
